The National Fire Authority has confirmed that the fire at the Defence Club in Suva has been deemed arson. The incident occurred earlier this year, with NFA Chief Executive Puamau Sowane announcing that the investigation into the fire, which took place on February 27, has been completed.
Sowane explained that based on the investigation report, particularly the origin and source of the fire, it has been officially classified as arson. He mentioned that the case file has been forwarded to the Police Crime Office.
Additionally, Chief of Crime ACP Mesake Waqa has verified that the report has been received and stated that investigators will proceed with analyzing the findings.
