ANZ has named Martin Beattie as the Country Head for ANZ Timor-Leste, pending regulatory approvals. Reporting to Sarah Stubbings, the ANZ Regional Executive for the Pacific, Mr. Beattie will be in charge of ANZ’s commercial banking operations in Timor-Leste.
“Asia-Pacific is a key region for ANZ’s international network, and Timor-Leste represents an important and expanding market. I am eager to collaborate with Martin to further strengthen our business here,” Ms. Stubbings commented.
With 15 years at ANZ, Mr. Beattie has held various positions, including Specialist Property Manager and State Manager for Commercial Brokers across Western Australia, South Australia, and the Northern Territory. He also previously served as Country Head for the Solomon Islands.
“Martin excelled in leading our team in the Solomons, and I am thrilled to announce his appointment to this vital role,” Ms. Stubbings added. “He brings over 18 years of international and domestic experience across a wide range of finance and banking positions. Martin is dedicated to community service, and I am confident he will make a significant impact while leading our business in Timor-Leste.”
Mr. Beattie will arrive in Timor-Leste in October and will officially assume the Country Head position once all necessary regulatory approvals are obtained. In the interim, Joao Ferreira, the Head of Commercial for Timor-Leste, will take on the Acting Country Head role following the departure of the current Country Head, Bernadette Shaw, in early October.
“I extend my heartfelt thanks to Bernadette for her dedication to our customers, community, and team in Timor-Leste. We wish her the best in her new position as Country Head of Laos,” Ms. Stubbings remarked.
