ANZ Fiji has faced a payment system outage since Monday, December 30, 2024, which has left customers frustrated due to the lack of public communication from the bank regarding the issue. For the past three days, clients were only informed of the outage when they reached out to the Helpline for clarification.
Rabih Yazbek, the country head for ANZ Fiji, conveyed that their technology teams have been working tirelessly to address this complex technical problem. He noted that the situation was complicated further by the challenges posed by the public holiday period.
Yazbek expressed understanding of the inconvenience caused to customers and apologized sincerely for any disruptions. He highlighted that their team has been persistent in finding a resolution, announcing that a fix was applied early this morning, allowing payments to resume normal processing from today.
The bank encourages customers who might still be facing issues or those who think they have incurred additional charges due to the outage to contact them at 132 411. It’s important to note that ANZ Fiji serves approximately 200,000 banking customers in the region.
This situation may have been frustrating for many, but it’s reassuring to see that the bank promptly addressed the issue and has now resumed normal operations. The bank’s commitment to transparency and customer support, even amidst technical challenges, fosters confidence among its clients moving forward.
