ANZ Fiji Faces Payment Outage: What You Need to Know

ANZ Fiji has faced a significant payment system outage since December 30, 2024, leaving many customers frustrated due to the lack of communication regarding the issue. During this outage, only customers who reached out to the Helpline received information about the situation.

Rabih Yazbek, the country head for ANZ Fiji, indicated that their technology teams have been actively working to resolve the intricate technical challenges. The situation was made more difficult by the timing, coinciding with the public holiday period.

Yazbek expressed understanding for the inconvenience caused to customers, stating, “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.” He reassured that efforts to rectify the issue were successful, and as of early this morning, payment processing should resume as normal.

Customers who still experience problems or believe they have incurred extra charges due to the outage are encouraged to contact the bank directly at 132 411. With approximately 200,000 individuals banking with ANZ Fiji, the bank emphasizes the importance of customer support during this period.

This situation highlights the vital role of communication and transparency between financial institutions and their customers, especially during service disruptions. It also showcases ANZ Fiji’s commitment to resolving issues and maintaining customer trust.
