The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) is planning to construct a church that will accommodate a congregation of 40,000 individuals. This announcement was made by ANCF General Superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca, during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Friday.
Rev. Ratabacaca stated that the tournament serves as a fundraising event for the new church project. The church is set to be built on a 25-acre plot of land and is intended to serve all Christian denominations for various events.
He expressed, “We have been inspired to build this facility for the whole body of Christ. We are thankful that God has chosen us for this purpose.” Rev. Ratabacaca emphasized that this church will not only cater to their congregation but will also be available for other Christian groups to hold conferences.
He highlighted the inadequacy of using sports grounds for worship, citing that the recent Methodist Church Conference at Vodafone Arena in Suva cost nearly half a million for just one week.
“Sports grounds and places like Vodafone Arena are not houses of God. Many annual Christian conferences have been held in such venues, and when it rains, attendees get wet and cold. This new facility will ensure that we feel comfortable while worshipping God,” he said.
