Former students of Adi Cakobau School gathered for an annual sports fun day at the Suva Grammar School indoor court yesterday. This event was part of the school’s birthday celebrations, featuring women and girls of various ages divided into four teams that represented the school’s houses.
Ilisapeci Movono, the President of the ACS Old Girls, explained that the event was organized to foster connections among former scholars. “This year, we decided to have a sports day to bring everyone together, allowing them to meet, interact, and showcase their skills,” Movono stated.
The day’s activities kicked off with a Zumba session at 7 AM and included volleyball, walking netball, tug of war, and card games, incorporating options like trump for older participants.
Movono indicated that attendees can expect another sports day next year, emphasizing that the enjoyment of these events will continue. “We’re planning to schedule next year’s sports day at a convenient time for everyone. While the exact details are still undecided, one thing is certain: we will have fun,” she added.
The day’s festivities concluded with a dinner for the former students at the Paradiso Restaurant in Albert Park, Suva, last night.
