The executive team of the People’s Alliance is convening in Suva today to discuss the future of Lynda Tabuya, who was recently dismissed from her ministerial position by the Prime Minister. This decision followed the controversy that arose when a nude video of Tabuya was shared on social media. The Prime Minister, currently in the Northern Division, is expected to participate in the meeting remotely.
Earlier this year, Tabuya was also removed from her role as the Deputy Leader of the Party. Despite her dismissal from the cabinet, she retains her status as a Member of Parliament; however, her position could be jeopardized if the Party opts to expel her from its ranks.
This meeting signals a crucial moment for both Tabuya and the People’s Alliance as they navigate the repercussions of this controversy. Regardless of the outcome, it could present an opportunity for the Party to reaffirm its values and policies moving forward, emphasizing the importance of accountability and integrity within its ranks.
