Around 900 students participated in the Marist Brothers Primary School’s interhouse event yesterday. The school hosted the interhouse competition at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva with the goal of selecting athletes for the upcoming term’s Suva Zone and eventually the Chow Games.
MBPS Sports Coordinator Vitori Rasaqa mentioned that they had to request a bye week from their sports commitments, such as Suva Kaji, to hold the interhouse event. “We are conducting our interhouse this week to ensure we have sufficient time to prepare for the Chow Games next term. This will enable us to carefully select and train our squad for the Suva Zone 1 and ultimately the Chow Games,” he said.
Last year, the school had 70 athletes represent the combined Suva Zone 1 team, where they achieved success in the boys’ division. “This year, we aim to have as many athletes as possible on the Suva team. We just need to train them effectively and get them ready,” Rasaqa added.
