Retired school principal Kuber Singh expressed his gratitude for the free cataract surgery he received last year and encouraged fellow Fijians to prioritize regular eye exams, emphasizing their crucial role in overall health. Accompanied by his wife, Kusum Lata Singh, Mr. Singh visited the Pacific Eye Institute in Suva following her eye surgery performed by the Guangdong Bright Journey medical team from China.
Mr. Singh reflected on his own transformative experience, stating, “I have perfect vision now; I no longer need glasses to read or watch television.” He voiced his appreciation for the Chinese medical team, highlighting their significant contribution to the local community.
Mrs. Singh, who suffered from vision problems for three years, shared her relief after undergoing surgery. “I couldn’t see with my right eye, and it caused a lot of stress,” she admitted. Her recent surgery promises to ease her daily activities, especially in caring for her grandchildren.
The Guangdong Bright Journey medical team is visiting various Pacific Island nations, providing free eye surgeries and clinics to more than 100 patients in need.
