A Tribute to Tradition: Honoring Chalmaiya Chetty’s Legacy

The Then India Sanmarga Ikya (TISI) Sangam honored the late Chalmaiya Chetty during the launch of his book, “South Indian Cultural Book,” at Subrail Park in Labasa last Friday. National TISI president Praveen Kumar accepted the first copy of the book from Mr. Chetty’s son, Keswan Chetty.

Chalmaiya Chetty, a dedicated member from Tabucola, Labasa, was known for his commitment to preserving the Hindi language and cultural traditions. His son expressed that the book provides guidance for South Indian families on leading a life rooted in devotion.

Keswan Chetty conveyed gratitude to TISI for choosing this significant occasion to unveil his father’s book, mentioning the strong values his father instilled in him regarding their South Indian heritage.

Mr. Kumar acknowledged the contributions of individuals like the late Mr. Chetty as vital to the TISI Sangam community and urged other members to emulate his example. He emphasized that this memorial day aims to inspire the younger generation to aspire to similar values and dedication.
