Harish Sharma, the former Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the National Federation Party (NFP), remains an influential figure in Fiji’s vibrant political landscape. At the age of 92, he recently unveiled his memoir, titled “Road to Parliament: A Glimpse into the Life of Hon. Harish C. Sharma,” during a launch event in Suva.
Finance Minister and current NFP leader Professor Biman Prasad praised Sharma’s distinguished career, highlighting his collaborations with prominent leaders like NFP founder A.D. Patel, S.M. Koya, and Justice Jai Ram Reddy. Prasad remarked, “To almost reach 90 years of age and start writing memoirs is nothing short of a miracle.” He described Sharma as a person embodying humility, kindness, decency, integrity, and honesty.
During the event, Sharma shared advice with the younger generation, encouraging them to set goals and strive to achieve them. He also read excerpts from his memoir that illustrate the various challenges he has encountered throughout his life. The launch attracted notable members of the NFP, underscoring Sharma’s lasting impact on the party and the broader political scene in Fiji.
