A New Home for Worship: ANCF’s Ambitious 40,000-Person Church Plan

The All Nations Christian Fellowship (ANCF) plans to construct a church capable of accommodating 40,000 congregants. This announcement was made by ANCF general superintendent, Reverend Epeli Ratabacaca, during the church’s Epic Rugby Sevens tournament held at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Friday.

Rev. Ratabacaca indicated that the tournament serves as a fundraising initiative for this ambitious project. “We have secured 25 acres of land for the development of this church facility,” he stated, emphasizing the venue’s availability for events hosted by various Christian denominations.

He expressed that the motivation behind this facility is to serve all members of the Christian community. “We are grateful that God has chosen us to undertake this responsibility. This facility will cater not just to our congregation but will also be available for other Christian groups for their church conferences,” he explained.

Additionally, Rev. Ratabacaca pointed out that sports grounds are not suitable venues for worship. He referenced the Methodist Church Conference held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, which incurred costs nearing half a million for just one week. “Sports grounds and arenas do not qualify as houses of God. We have observed that many Christian annual conferences have taken place in such venues, leading to discomfort during inclement weather,” he remarked.

The anticipated facility aims to provide a comfortable environment for worship and community gatherings.
