Maria Sauvou expresses her deep gratitude to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital, crediting it for her daughter’s recovery from Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD). Her daughter, Ulamila Naivalu, was diagnosed with RHD at the age of one, and over the past 15 years, the journey has been challenging.

On Thursday, Ulamila underwent a successful surgery, which Ms. Sauvou described as a relief, stating, “It was like a heavy burden was off-loaded from my back. My daughter can live freely now.” She expressed joy at no longer having to deal with sleepless nights, pain, or frequent injections.

Throughout the years, Ms. Sauvou has focused on creating a positive environment for Ulamila, encouraging her during tough times. She recalled moments when her daughter’s health deteriorated, leading to urgent hospital visits for injections. “It was really a hard time for us, especially for her,” she said, emphasizing the importance of family support and prayers during their struggles.

For a long time, Ms. Sauvou sought options, ultimately finding hope in surgery. Ulamila was treated at Sai Prema Children Hospital. Reflecting on the diagnosis, Ms. Sauvou admitted feeling overwhelmed and hopeless at first. It was only when the Sai Prema Children Hospital became involved that she felt a sense of relief.

She praises the foundation for its dedicated care for children with RHD, calling it a miracle for families like hers. Ms. Sauvou urges other parents not to hesitate in seeking medical check-ups for their children, regardless of their financial situation. She emphasizes the importance of faith, stating that “God answers prayers” and led them to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital. She remarked on the kindness of the staff, noting, “They made Ulamila feel at home. It is definitely a comforting setting.”
