A Mother’s Gratitude: A Miracle at Sai Prema Foundation Hospital

Maria Sauvou expresses deep gratitude to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital, crediting it for her daughter’s recovery from Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD). Her daughter, Ulamila Naivalu, 16, was diagnosed with RHD at just one year old.

“It has been a long 15 years for us. I’m thankful that Ulamila underwent a successful operation on Thursday,” Ms. Sauvou shared. “It feels like a heavy burden has been lifted; my daughter can now live freely.”

She reflected on the challenges faced throughout the years, stating, “No more worries, no more sleepless nights, no more pain, no more injections.” Despite the fate they faced, Ms. Sauvou created a positive environment, constantly encouraging Ulamila to persevere during tough times.

“There were moments when Ulamila showed signs that her heart was weakening, and I would hurriedly take her for her injections. Those were really difficult times for both of us,” she recounted. “Yet, with family support and continuous prayers, Ulamila managed to endure the hardships.”

For years, Ms. Sauvou searched for possible solutions, with surgery being their only hope. Ulamila found care at the Sai Prema Children Hospital.

“When I first discovered she had RHD, I felt as though the world had turned against me. It was heart-wrenching to realize how young she was, and I lost all hope until the Sai Prema Children Hospital entered our lives,” she said. “I’m incredibly thankful that such facilities exist, specifically for children suffering from this disease.”

Urging other parents, she said, “Do not hesitate to take your children for check-ups. We aren’t wealthy, but God answered our prayers by guiding us to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital. The staff and medical team were incredibly supportive, making Ulamila feel at home in a truly comforting environment.”
