A Mother’s Gratitude: A Life-Saving Miracle at Sai Prema Foundation

Maria Sauvou expresses immense gratitude towards the Sai Prema Foundation hospital, crediting it with saving her daughter from ongoing struggles with Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD). Fifteen years ago, her now 16-year-old daughter, Ulamila Naivalu, was diagnosed with the condition at just one year old.

“After such a long and arduous journey, I cannot express how grateful I am that Ulamila had a successful operation last Thursday,” Ms. Sauvou shared. “It felt as if a great weight had been lifted from my shoulders, allowing my daughter to live freely.”

She noted that the operation means an end to worries, sleepless nights, pain, and the frequent injections her daughter had to endure. Throughout Ulamila’s difficult health journey, Ms. Sauvou worked hard to create a positive environment, encouraging her daughter during tough times.

“When Ulamila showed signs that her heart was weakening, I would rush her to the hospital for her injections. It was an incredibly difficult time for both of us,” she recalled. “However, with the unwavering support of family and constant prayers, Ulamila persevered.”

For years, Ms. Sauvou searched for medical options and was left feeling hopeless until she discovered the Sai Prema Children Hospital. “When I first found out about her RHD diagnosis, I felt like the world had failed me. The emotions were overwhelming, especially knowing how young she is. But then Sai Prema Children Hospital became an option,” she said.

“I am truly grateful for such institutions that cater specifically to children with this disease. Like many parents, we feel blessed by this foundation; it’s nothing short of a miracle.”

Ms. Sauvou urges other parents to seek medical check-ups for their children without hesitation. “We aren’t financially well-off, but God answers prayers and led us to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital. The staff and medical team have been incredibly supportive, making Ulamila feel at home in a comforting atmosphere.”
