Maria Sauvou expresses her deep gratitude to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital, crediting it for saving her daughter from the struggles of Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD). Her 16-year-old daughter, Ulamila Naivalu, was diagnosed with RHD at the age of one.
“After 15 long and challenging years, I am relieved that Ulamila underwent a successful operation on Thursday,” Ms. Sauvou stated. She described the experience as a tremendous weight being lifted, allowing her daughter to live freely. “There are no more worries, sleepless nights, pain, or injections,” she added.
Despite the challenges, Ms. Sauvou ensured that Ulamila was surrounded by a positive environment and offered words of encouragement during tough times. There were instances when Ulamila’s heart showed signs of strain, prompting immediate hospital visits for injections, which proved to be extremely difficult for both mother and daughter. With family support and constant prayers, Ulamila persevered through the difficulties.
For many years, Ms. Sauvou searched for solutions, ultimately believing that surgery was the only option. Ulamila was treated at the Sai Prema Children Hospital. “When I received the diagnosis of RHD, I felt as though my world had come crashing down,” she recalled. “It was heart-wrenching to see my daughter so young facing this illness. I had lost all hope until the Sai Prema Children Hospital entered our lives.”
She expressed her gratitude for establishments like the Sai Prema Foundation, which focuses specifically on treating children with this condition. “Like many parents, we feel blessed by this foundation; it’s truly miraculous,” she remarked.
Ms. Sauvou urges other parents not to hesitate in seeking medical check-ups for their children. “We are not financially well-off, but God answers prayers. He guided us to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital.” She praised the staff and medical team for their support, noting how they made Ulamila feel comfortable during her treatment. “It is a truly reassuring environment.”
