Maria Sauvou expresses immense gratitude towards the Sai Prema Foundation hospital, which has significantly impacted her daughter’s health journey. Her 16-year-old daughter, Ulamila Naivalu, was diagnosed with Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) at just one year old.
“It’s been a long and challenging 15 years for us. I am incredibly thankful that Ulamila had a successful operation last Thursday,” Ms. Sauvou shared. “It felt like a heavy burden has been lifted from my shoulders. Now my daughter can live freely without worries or pain.”
Throughout the years, Ms. Sauvou maintained a supportive environment for Ulamila, offering encouragement during tough times. “There were moments when Ulamila showed signs of heart weakness, and I’d quickly take her to the hospital for her injections. It was an incredibly tough period for both of us, especially for her.”
With the unwavering support of family and persistent prayers, Ulamila remained resilient. For many years, Ms. Sauvou searched for viable treatment options, and surgery became their only hope. Eventually, Ulamila arrived at the Sai Prema Children Hospital.
“When I first discovered she had RHD, I felt as though the world had let me down,” she recounted. “It was heart-wrenching and emotional, knowing she was so young. I lost all hope until the Sai Prema Children Hospital came into my life.”
She added, “I am profoundly grateful for places like this that focus on treating children with this condition. We are truly blessed by this foundation; it feels like a miracle.”
Ms. Sauvou advises other parents not to hesitate in taking their children for medical check-ups. “We are not financially well off. I believe God answers prayers and led us to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital. The staff and medical team were incredibly supportive, making Ulamila feel at home in a comforting environment.”
