Diwan Chand Maharaj, the esteemed founder of Quality Print PTE Limited, was remembered as a “true friend to many” and a “dedicated professional” within the printing industry during his funeral service at the Dignified Crematorium. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka expressed his condolences, highlighting Mr. Maharaj’s significant contributions and the impact he had on countless lives throughout his illustrious career.
Mr. Maharaj founded Quality Print in 1982, leading the company for over four decades and establishing it as a key player in Fiji’s printing landscape. His commitment to excellence and innovation earned his business a stellar reputation in the local sector. The passing of Mr. Maharaj is seen as the conclusion of an era for Quality Print, which profoundly influenced the printing industry in Fiji and supported numerous local enterprises.
In addition to his printing endeavors, Mr. Maharaj co-founded Sun Insurance PTE Limited in 1999, further showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit. Prime Minister Rabuka also noted Mr. Maharaj’s integral role in the establishment of the Kidney Foundation of Fiji, demonstrating his dedication to community service.
His leadership extended to various charitable organizations, and he actively participated in the Rotary Club since 1990, serving as the national president of the Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji. Mr. Rabuka praised Mr. Maharaj for his embodiment of love and friendship, values that are vital in any community.
