Local celebrity chef Lance Seeto, who passed away on October 28, will be remembered for his remarkable culinary talents and his multifaceted roles as a teacher, storyteller, mentor, and friend. Colleagues, family, and friends gathered at the Dignified Crematorium in Davuilevu to pay their last respects.

During the funeral service, Marc McElrath, managing director of McDonald’s Fiji, delivered a touching eulogy, describing Seeto as an extraordinary individual. He praised Seeto’s creativity in translating his heritage, struggles, and affection for local ingredients into his culinary masterpieces. McElrath highlighted Seeto’s knack for transforming simple ingredients into unforgettable dishes that brought joy to many.

Beyond the kitchen, he was a successful author and television presenter, known for programs like Taste of Paradise and Exotic Delights, which deepened the audience’s understanding of Fijian cuisine and its rich cultural background.

He is survived by his parents and two sisters, leaving behind a heartfelt void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
