Former students, parents, and community members gathered on Thursday night to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Drasa Primary School and the 50th anniversary of Drasa Secondary School. The event was held at the Lautoka schools, with Shiva Gounder, managing director of Subrail’s Furniture, officiating the ceremony.
Gounder emphasized that the occasion was a celebration of a legacy centered around education and progress. He praised Drasa Primary School for its century of excellence and acknowledged the 50-year journey of Drasa Secondary School.
“This is a testament to the enduring spirit of education and commitment to shaping the future,” Gounder stated. He extended his congratulations to the staff, students, and alumni of Drasa Primary School, noting that reaching the 100-year mark is a significant achievement. He highlighted the strength and vision that have guided the institution from its modest beginnings.
The celebrations included a three-day carnival at the primary school grounds, which concluded yesterday. The event showcased a range of activities, including cultural presentations, sports events, and food stalls.
