A 70-year-old man has been charged with indecently assaulting a 12-year-old girl and is set to appear in the Navua Magistrates Court today. The alleged incident took place in the man’s home on the afternoon of August 9, 2024. The accused and the victim are members of the same community. The matter came to the attention of the Navua Police after the victim’s uncle reported it. He faces one charge of Indecent Assault in accordance with Section 212 (1) of the Crimes Act 2009.
