A 70-year-old man has been charged and is set to appear in the Navua Magistrates Court today for allegedly indecently assaulting a 12-year-old girl. The incident reportedly occurred at the accused’s residence on the afternoon of August 9, 2024. Both the accused and the victim live in the same community. The matter was brought to the attention of the Navua Police by the victim’s uncle. The man has been charged with one count of indecent assault in violation of Section 212 (1) of the Crimes Act 2009.
