“200 Strong: A Night of Hope for Fiji’s Cancer Patients”

Over 200 attendees participated in a fundraising dinner held on Saturday at the Sheraton’s Denarau Island Convention Center. The event was a collaborative effort involving Samson Lee Fiji, the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Resort, and Rosie Events, aimed at raising funds to support individuals battling cancer in the Western region.

Prominent fashion designer Samson Lee, who experienced a personal loss with his sister’s death from cancer, emphasized the significance of cancer awareness in his life. He expressed, “This event is particularly important to me. While I organize charity events annually, this one resonates deeply as my sister succumbed to cancer.”

Lee mentioned that he dedicates the month of October each year to charitable endeavors, stating, “Cancer is something that is very dear to me.” He appreciated the strong turnout, noting the community’s genuine support for the cause.

Silvano Dressino, general manager of Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, praised the event as a fantastic partnership aimed at assisting cancer patients in the West. “Marriott’s commitment to recognizing Pinktober and our long-standing tradition of community service made it a privilege to host this event. We are delighted with the results, as the proceeds will benefit cancer patients,” Dressino added.
