Fiji Captain Penisoni Tirau earned the Man of the Match award after scoring two goals against Tahiti in the opening match of the OFC U19 Men’s Championship in Apia, Samoa today.
The 18-year-old, who is the head boy at Xavier College and a prominent player for Ba football, maintained his composure and confidence despite an earlier missed penalty kick, which did not deter the Fijians from securing a 3-1 victory.
Tirau demonstrated exemplary leadership for the Junior Bula Boys, consistently challenging the Tahitian defense and keeping them on their toes throughout the game.
