The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has reported that 15 individuals were charged with a total of 32 counts of sexual offences in June. Among the accused, two were juveniles, and ten of the victims were under the age of 18.
The victims included one male and 14 females, with six incidents involving the accused being related to the victims.
In one incident, a 15-year-old boy was charged with the rape and attempted rape of a 5-year-old girl. In a separate incident, a 13-year-old boy was charged with the rape of a 12-year-old boy.
A 40-year-old man faced charges of raping his 19-year-old niece, while a 33-year-old man was charged with raping his 15-year-old niece. Another case involved a 59-year-old man charged with the rape and sexual assault of his 15-year-old niece.
Additionally, a 42-year-old man faced charges of raping and indecently assaulting his 14-year-old niece. A 43-year-old man charged with the rape of his 14-year-old niece had his case discontinued following his death.
In another case, a 42-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 42-year-old wife, but this matter was discontinued due to insufficient evidence.
A 79-year-old man was charged with the rape and indecent assault of a 13-year-old girl. Additionally, a 20-year-old man was charged with raping an 11-year-old girl, while a 38-year-old man faced charges of rape and indecent assault of a 13-year-old girl from his village.
In a final reported incident, an 18-year-old man was charged with the defilement of a 14-year-old girl.
